Eccleshill’s Sarah Rawlings and David Goodyear both chose this popular coastal race which is part of the Lancaster race series. A flat out and back on roads and paths, it has an entry limit of 1000 runners and offers the choice of 5k, 10k or10 mile distances. Sarah took on the challenge of the 10 mile distance. After picking up their numbers from the Half Moon Bay Cafe, runners lined up outside to start.
The out and back course follows the length of Morecambe Promenade – with a little short loop through Heysham Village and back again with stunning views across Morecambe Bay and across to the picturesque Lake District mountains. Sarah reported blustery conditions which may have slightly hampered those chasing an elusive PB but as a coastal run are to be expected. All finishers received a
medal and tea/coffee & biscuits to all finishers. Sarah finished in 1:37:21 and David 1:39:20 Great running both, well done!
