Eccleshill’s Sarah Myers starts her running season off with this challenging local charity fundraiser. whilst David Goodyear completed his second race in successive days! Spring sunshine greeted runners at Victoria Park for this popular race hosted by and benefitting, Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice which also offers A 5k option. Runners get to run through the paths, parks and hidden gems of Keighley.
Both the 10k and 5k are challenging events. The organisers refreshed both routes for 2023 with both starting and finishing in Victoria Park, they then followed a circular route which ran through Cougar Park, the home of Keighley Cougars, the Leeds Liverpool canal and East Riddlesden Hall. The 10k route also takes in the stunning Keighley Golf Club. All finishers received a bespoke Keighley 10k/5k t-shirt. As the event takes place on Mother’s Day, many people run or walk with their mum, for their mum or in memory of their mum. Flowers to mark Mothering Sunday are also given to Mums. Sarah finished in 67:10 & David 72:08. Well done!
