While many were enjoying a well-earned Mother’s Day lie-in, Barbara Stow was out representing Eccleshill Road Runners at the Trimpell 20. Held in Morecambe, this popular early-season 20-miler takes in stretches of the Lune Valley countryside as well as areas around historic Lancaster, offering runners a scenic but testing route over the full distance. Known as a key fixture in the build-up to spring marathons, the race is a real test of pacing, endurance, and mental strength. For Barbara, the event formed an important part of her preparation for the Manchester Marathon, giving her the chance to put in a strong long-distance effort in race conditions. She tackled the course with determination and resilience, using the day as another valuable step in her marathon training journey. A fantastic performance from Barbara (time 3:57:51), and a brilliant way to mark Mother’s Day — well done on a strong run and on proudly flying the Eccleshill colours once again!
