With determination in good supply, Gillian Jago is keeping her foot firmly on the gas, ramping up the miles in the longer distance Winter races as she continues her mission to run an ultra marathon.
The Village Bakery Half Marathon is a flat out-and-back road race billed as perfect for those chasing that elusive personal best time at this distance. The race is hosted by Run Cheshire & Gogledd Cymru with loyal support from the Village Bakery. Starting and finishing at an industrial estate on Bridge Road North, the course takes runners through the surrounding villages of Isycoed, Bowling Bank, Ridley Wood and Sutton Green. Along the way the runners get to enjoy impressive views of the North Wales and nearby Cheshire countryside. Today’s weather proved absolutely perfect conditions for running
This classic race is popular with some of the fastest runners in the region as well as those tackling the distance for the first time. It is well marshalled with plenty of support and drink stations.
It’s a large enough field not to feel lonely but not so big as to not have sufficient water, medals and most importantly Welsh cakes!
