OTLEY 10 MILE – WEDNESDAY 14TH JUNE 2023

A super sunbaked evening of running came in the form of “The Otley 10 miler”
Always a popular event attracting beginners, serious runners and club teams too, to whisk around the stunning local scenic country roads. This chip timed event is a permanent fixture of the Yorkshire running scene with a very friendly but competitive atmosphere. The race starts and ends at Otley cricket club with a grandstand finish, barbecue and prize giving. Three Eccleshill Road runners stepped out on this very warm evening to take on the challenge. Sarah Myers, Dan Jenkins and Garry Ellison. Once again the new route was employed which misses out some of the curves on the main road and allows more space away from the houses. The course has been independently measured and certified. As usual Eccleshill had a brilliant support crew in the form of Maxine, Julie and Martin as well as Ian and Angie out on the route at various points shouting encouragement to our runners. Dan soared home in 1:09:13 followed very closely by Sarah and Garry in 2:01:17 : ) Great running, well done!
