This week’s destination of choice for the Summer series race was Kirkstall. The Sarah’s were once again out in the blue and white.
The Grim Up North Summer Evening Series is a collection of events now in it’s second year for 2022. The series is aimed at keeping runners motivated (and race fit) over the summer months. With the exception of race 1 which is 4 or 8 miles the remaining races in the series offer the choice of 5K and 10K, held each Wednesday at 18:45 and their motto ‘rock up and run’ means there’s no need for pre race entry as it’s entry on the night only, turn up pay your fee and you’re in! In addition, this year they are running a championship where each runner’s five fastest times of the series count, trophies are then awarded for first male and 1st female in each distance with overall winners being announced at the end of the series.
Destinations in the series include: Blubberhouses, Bingley, Kirkstall, Saltaire, Marsden, Slawit & Cromwell Bottom (Elland). Deciding this week to accompany each other round the 10k course were Sarah Rawlings & Sarah Myers finishing in 61:11 respectively. Well done Ladies!
